   Women's Ministry

Ministry Leader:

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ." Philippians 3:13-14

Women of Worth Vision

Women of Worth Mission Statement

Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church Women’s Ministry, Women of Worth, seeks to enlighten and empower EVERY woman at all ages and stages of life. Women of Worth provides opportunities for growth through sound teaching of the gospel, forums and educational sessions on today’s issues and outlets for fellowship. The Women's Ministry meets each month on 1st & 3rd Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM in the Word Center, Room 305 (Day Ministry) and 3rd and 4th Wednesday evenings at 6:30PM in the Sanctuary (Evening Ministry).

The challenge to the Pilgrim Rest Family has been to “Occupy All Streets”. As an example of how to accomplish the work of The Lord, the Women’s Ministry studied about the Prophetess and Judge Deborah. Deborah was an amazing leader over Israel. She was the only female Judge for Israel, and the only Judge who was also a prophet of God. Deborah was first a woman of God. She inherited a sinful Israel, who had been oppressed by the Canaanites for 20 years prior. The Lord anointed Deborah, whose faith allowed her to see the reality of a powerful enemy, but she was also able to Receive and Believe in the possibilities of God. Barak’s confidence in Deborah, energized his faith and they moved forward in God’s Will. God delivered the victory to Israel, utterly destroying all of the Canaanite army. Sisera, their general, met his demise at the hands of a woman, Jael drove a tent peg through his temple as he slept.

A great encouragement to us, especially in these troubling times, is Deborah, who put her trust and focus in The Lord, even in the face of the overwhelming reality of the situation. We all have trials in our lives: health; marriage; children; family; finances; career, etc. Whatever we are facing, at any time, we must be led by the Holy Spirit and look to The Lord. We must activate our faith to the max, hold up our shield of Faith and intently focus our trust in The Lord, He alone is able to meet all our needs with unfailing Love. We finish this year celebrating all the victories of The Lord for His people. We look forward to doing a more excellent work, through the power of the Holy Spirit in 2018, knowing and trusting that The Lord is able to bring POSSIBLE out of impossible.

We will trust in The Lord: “Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21)

Be Blessed and Be a Blessing!!
