Each cohort requires a minimum of 8 students to move forward, and our goal is to
operate two cohorts simultaneously, allowing us to serve more community
members seeking career opportunities in the telecommunications and fiber optics
industry.
Student Eligibility Requirements:
Prospective students must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess a high school diploma or GED
Have reliable transportation
Be able to pass a color vision (colorblind) test
Be able to pass a drug test
Be able to pass a background check
Program Overview
Our 5-week Fiber Optic Technician Training Program (week 6 is professional
development bootcamp) is offered through our partnership with Google STAR
and includes:
Fiber Optic Technician technical training
Industry-recognized certifications
Professional development and career readiness training
Resume preparation and interview coaching
Exposure to employer partners and employment opportunities
Pathways into entry-level telecommunications and fiber optic careers
The program is designed to provide participants with the technical skills,
professional competencies, and industry credentials needed to enter a growing
and in-demand workforce sector.
